“D2C oral beauty, wellness brand Perfora raises $1 million in funding led by Sauce”

A senior company executive told that Sauce.VC and strategic traders like Lotus Herbals family office, Shiprocket group, and Sara international group led Direct-to-consumer (D2C) oral beauty and wellness brand Perfora to raise $1 million in a spherical seed round.

Funds raised will be utilized to build its brand group, introduce a range of revolutionary oral care solutions, improve its brand positioning, and extend distribution.

 

Facts

Traditional players are challenged by Perfora, like many other new-age beauty and personal care manufacturers, with a clean look at the class regarding product lines and distribution.

Currently, the brand sells its merchandise through its internet site and channels like Amazon India, Swiggy Instamart and Nykaa directly to purchasers.

In step with the agency, oral care is a Rs 15,000-crore market dominated by incumbent manufacturers such as Colgate NSE 1.16 %, close Up, Patanjali, Dabur NSE 1.47 %, and Sensodyne.

Jatan Bawa and Tushar Khurana launched the brand in August 2021, Perfora’s product portfolio consists of an electric toothbrush, probiotic mouthwash, N-Ha toothpaste, and smart flosser, and peroxide-free enamel whitening pen.

Bawa said they need to create a massive effect within the regular lifestyles of people with large and effective oral care products.

Manu Chandra, managing partner, Sauce, VC, said that With growing disposable earnings and net penetration, purchasers have started investing in products that deliver an experience.

 

Khurana further added that In India, 90% of humans have dental cavities or gum disorders, and There may be a large lack of information around oral hygiene and top products inside the market besides the point ingredients like SLS, and Titanium Dioxide or Sodium Saccharin. There’s a big possibility to construct an oral care brand that creates recognition.
